Painting harbors the spaces one remembers in the back of the mind, the quiet, tucked away moments or the loud and obstructive explosions that collide with materiality. The work often confront a sense of dislocation, gaining and losing distinguishable form and ground as they sink into an abstract or nocturnal setting. It becomes about transforming something once familiar into something unknown and dramatic.
